Hello Tom Baines Families,

Only two more weeks before the winter break. The last few weeks have been quite busy with the book fair, conferences, school council and amazing learning opportunities. We are excited to finish off 2025 strong. Please see below for important information.

Important Dates:

December 11 – Grade 8 Trip to Rosebud or Vertigo

December 11 – Family Craft Night from 5:00 – 7:30 – all families are invited to attend! Students can only attend under the supervision of a parent/guardian.

December 19 – Student Talent Show and last day of school

December 20 - January 4 - Winter Break - No School

January 5 – School resumes

School Council – thank you to everyone who attended our November meeting. Our next meeting is on January 26 at 7:00 pm in our Learning Commons. Please mark your calendars.

Tis the season for giving.

Once again, Tom Baines students and staff are helping support the Edgemont Community  Association in collecting items for the annual Christmas hampers. We have many families in our communities that are in need of our help. If you have the means to support our Christmas hamper drive, we would appreciate it.

Collection - Monday, Dec. 1 to Thursday, Dec. 11th

Each grade has been assigned items to bring.

Grade 6 - Paper products (ex. Toilet paper, paper towel, kleenex, band aids, baby wipes, etc). Collection bags in green pod

Grade 7 - Personal Hygiene (ex. toothpaste/toothbrush, shampoo, soap, deodorant, feminine hygiene products, shaving supplies, etc.). Collection boxes in Burgundy pod

Grade 8 - Non-perishable food bank items (canned/boxed/bagged food) - Collection boxes in Gold pod

Grade 9 - Household Cleaning items (dish soap, cleaning solutions, cloths, laundry detergent, dishtowels, etc) - Collection boxes in Blue Pod

*** All pods - Gift cards to grocery stores or big box stores. Gift cards come to Ms. Lloyd in the Phys Ed office.

Holiday Craft Night

You are invited to the Tom Baines Annual Holiday Card and Craft Evening for students and their families!

This free event takes place on Thursday, December 11, from 5-7:30 pm

We will supply all the card blanks and crafty materials for you to get creative with, as well as wooden ornaments that you can decorate and take home

Festive treats will be provided for your family to enjoy
