Hello Tom Baines Families,

We’ve survived a few wet weeks of May and are excited for hotter forecasted weather. Just a reminder that students do go outside for lunch recess unless it is pouring rain. Please ensure that your child comes to school prepared for the weather each day.

Please see below for important information.

Important Dates:

May 26 – School Council Meeting @ 7:00 pm in the Learning Commons

May 27 – Grade 6 vaccinations

May 28 – Grade 6 ELA Part 1 PAT

May 29 – Grade 9 ELA Part 1 PAT

June 2 – Track and Field Meet

June 2 – Band Concert at 7:00 at Foothills Alliance Church

June 11-12 – Grade 8 Riverwatch Trip

June 13 – 19 – Grade 6 and 9 PATs

School Council – please come and join us for our final meeting on May 26 at 7:00 pm in the Learning Commons. We have many positions to fill for the next year and we welcome everyone to attend to learn more about the council and how you can support. We can’t do it without you!

PATs – our first two PATs are on May 28 (Grade 6) and May 29 (Grade 9). They will take place in the morning and students will have regular classes in the afternoon. Grade 9 students are not permitted to go home after the exam on May 29. They are expected to be at school all day. For the June PATs, Grade 9 students will be permitted to go home after the exam if parents sign a consent form. That form and more information will be going home at the beginning of June.

Learning Commons – the last day for students to sign out books from our Learning Commons is May 29 and all books must be returned by June 6. This allows our Library Assistant to organize the LC for next year. Thank you!

Fees – as we approach the end of the year, please ensure that all school fees are paid on your MyCBEAccount. If you have any questions about fees, please contact our main office.

Thank you all for your continued support and we look forward to an amazing end of the school year.
