School Council – our next meeting is November 18 at 7:00 pm in our Learning Commons. Please come and join the meeting! School council has also sent home a form for donations. The form is also attached.
School Development Plan – our 2024/2025 SDP has been finalized and is available on our website under the ‘our school’ tab. This document outlines our focus for the year which is on developing vocabulary to improve literacy skills and increasing student sense of belonging. Staff work diligently to help all students feel welcomed, safe and secure while at school so optimal learning will happen.
School enrollment – we continue to welcome new students to Tom Baines and have welcomed quite a few over the last two weeks. Our enrollment is currently at 837 and once we hit 840 students we go into an overflow situation. Any students registering after we hit 840 will be overflowed to Arbour Lake School. This does not impact current students, but if you have any friends or family moving to the area to attend Tom Baines, they may be overflowed.
Extra-curricular activities – from basketball to speech to debate to the science fair, we continue to offer amazing extra-curricular activities for all students. All information about these activities are found on the d2l announcements and are reviewed each day with the students. They can speak to the teachers in charge directly with any questions.
Thank you for your continued support. We appreciate working together with the amazing members of the community.
