Athletic Update
Our basketball season had a busy week, with all four teams in action.
The week began with the Junior Girls competing on Monday at Evanston Heights School. They earned victories over both Evanston Heights and Valley Creek before wrapping up their regular season against Branton. The girls came up just short in a closely contested game but finished the regular season in second place overall. They will now await their semifinal matchup later in November.
The Junior Boys also finished their regular season against Branton. In a hard-fought game that featured plenty of back-and-forth action, the boys worked hard and continued to show improvement throughout. They completed the regular season with a record of 3 wins and 2 losses and will be in quarterfinal action later in November. Their playoff opponent has yet to be determined.
The Senior Girls had a busy week, playing on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday evenings. On Wednesday, they split their regular season games, defeating Valley Creek and falling to Branton. On Thursday, they competed in the Northwest Classic Tournament at Simon Fraser School, opening with an impressive win over Simon Fraser before coming up short against Lake Shore School despite a strong performance. The girls will take on Arbour Lake School in the third-place game on Friday evening. Good luck, girls! They will also wrap up their regular season schedule next week.
The Senior Boys were in action Thursday evening at Valley Creek School. They defeated the host team before earning another hard-fought victory over Branton. The boys remain undefeated and will play their final two regular season games next week before the playoffs begin.

After School Events
It was wonderful to see so many students enjoying themselves at the Halloween Dance. This was a fun and exciting way to celebrate Halloween. We do want to remind parents/guardians that students need to be picked up promptly at the end of school events as we do not have supervision beyond the time of the event. So, if an event ends at 6:30pm, we need parents ready to collect their students at 6:30pm.
Lates
We’ve had several students arriving late to school this week causing a delay in students arriving to class on time. Our school provides a soft entry to ensure students have time to enter the building, get their belongings and be in their classrooms before 8:50am. We are asking parents to drop their students off on time, starting at 8:35am.
Veterans Food Bank Drive
We are collecting non-perishable food items to support local veterans and their families who may be experiencing food insecurities.
The Veterans Food Fank provides essential food and supplies to those who have served our country and may need a little extra support. This drive is our opportunity for us to show our appreciation for their service and to give back to those who have given so much
Please bring your donations to the boxes in center court.
Collection from Monday, Nov. 2 to Tuesday, Nov. 10
Poppy Fund
The Poppy Fund helps support veterans and their families who may need financial assistance, housing, food, or other essential services. By wearing a poppy and donating, we honour those who have served our country and show our gratitude for their sacrifices.
You can purchase a poppy from your Phys Ed teacher from Tuesday, Nov. 3 until Tuesday, Nov. 10. All students are expected to have a poppy for our school Remembrance Day.
