Hello Tom Baines Families,

Hard to believe that there are only a few weeks left in the school year! We are busy preparing for exams and getting ready for next year. Class Lists – We are currently in the process of making class lists for next year. We typically get a few requests of having specific students together or students being with specific teachers. Please note that the classroom placement process is quite complex and there are many factors that go into it. We aren’t able to accommodate most requests but our teachers are careful in their planning to make sure that all students feel safe and secure in the new school year. Thank you for your understanding with this.

Exams – Exams run from June 12 – 20. Grade 6 students are only writing their Social and Science PATs in the afternoons of June 19 and 20 and are expected to be in school full days. Students in Grades 7-9 are able to leave during the lunch break on exam days if we have the signed consent form from home.

Fees – last call to pay all fees! Any unpaid fees go to collections. Please log into your MyCBEAccount to see if there are any outstanding fees.

Staffing Updates – we have a few staff members moving on to different opportunities next school year. Mrs. Bartlett is moving to Prince Edward Island in the summer to begin new adventures there. Mr. Whyte is moving to British Columbia where he will be continuing his teaching. Ms. Rankin is retiring at the end of June. Mr. Kadri is taking a leave to pursue another educational opportunity. Mr. Paddock has accepted a position at William Aberhart High School. We wish them all the best of luck and will send out information about new staff members at the end of the month.

Thank you to everyone who came out and helped with our Grade 9 Farewell last night. It was a great success and our students had a wonderful time. We will miss all of them as they move onto High School. We hope everyone has a wonderful few weeks ahead.
